This represented year-over-year growth of 26%, up from 12% revenue growth in 2003. We continued to make progress throughout the year, accelerating to 36% revenue growth in the fourth quarter versus the fourth quarter of 2003.
We saw strength in three key areas: our subscription business, with about 43% of overall revenues coming from software and service subscriptions; our core enterprise business, which delivered the lion’s share of our revenues; and our new products. Including the Citrix MetaFrame Access Suite, Secure Access Manager, Password Manager, and Conferencing Manager, these new products delivered over 9% of fourth quarter software license revenue, at the high end of our target range.
In addition, we continued to invest in the future. During the year, we made both company and technology acquisitions to expand into adjacent markets and double the number of offerings in our product portfolio. We also added nearly 800 talented employees to our worldwide workforce, including the new divisions of Citrix Online and Citrix Gateways.
We also continued to increase the company’s visibility worldwide and articulate the strategic value of our access platform. Last year, our advertising campaign generated 678 million impressions globally, driving our brand recognition from 2% to 11.5%. And we accomplished all this while maintaining our adjusted operating margins in the desired range of mid-to-upper 20 percent.
